The Ministry of Higher Education has recently become the first government ministry in Afghanistan to be accredited as an ICDL Test Centre.
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are playing an important role in development of higher education standards in Afghanistan. MoHE is one of the first Ministries in the country which sees that bridging the digital gap and educating their staff to international standards is critical in order to achieve the goals outlined in the development strategy for the 2010-2014.
The re-establishment of a higher education system and capacity building within the Government institutions are key priorities on the road towards sustainable recovery. 12 computer centres at major Universities across Afghanistan have become accredited ICDL Test Centres, and are beginning to offer ICDL certification to their faculty members and students.
