ECDL Foundation proud to support European e-Skills Week 2010 – promoting e-skills for the future of Europe
Brussels, February 2010: ECDL Foundation is proudly supporting the European e-Skills Week 2010 campaign to highlight the importance of e-skills for the future of Europe.
This pan-European awareness-raising campaign promotes e-skills to the general public, students, young professionals and SME’s, and stresses the vast range of opportunities that ICT-related jobs present to encourage greater uptake of ICT studies and careers. The campaign spans 20 European countries and will reach over 300,000 people.
ECDL Foundation welcomes this ground-breaking initiative of the European Commission and is an active pan-European stakeholder in the campaign. Public authorities, ICT companies, informatics societies, schools as well as ECDL Foundation’s national partners are already organising activities across Europe, which will culminate in a series of European activities throughout the week of 2nd - 6th March 2010.
“Today e-skills and digital literacy are essential for all Europeans – this campaign is helping to empower people to reap the benefits ICT by raising awareness of the importance of e-skills for the workplace, lifelong learning and personal communication in the digital world.
