ICDL for Arab states

Prompted by the drive to promote computer literacy for all citizens in the Arab States and through its function as a standard-setting agency, UNESCO Cairo Office (UCO) initiated and has been implementing the ICDL programme since 2001.  Significant efforts were undertaken by UCO to establish the necessary infrastructure, familiarise the Arab States with the programme, identify and designate a number of organisations as accredited ICDL training and/or testing centres, and develop solid, phased plans for rolling out the programme in the region. Click here to read the case study.
